Our past experiences and knowledge shape how we look at others and the world. From this perspective, we posit specific ways in which certain things can be understood, not only by ourselves but also by others, so people can have a shared understanding of what is physically or mentally available to them. These systems of ideas that further our understanding of the world are called theories. As humans, we have the desire to explore and understand. Moreover, sometimes, given theories seem to justify one thing but not the other. With these limitations in mind, we retain a multiplicity of theories so we can fill the vacant spots that cannot be explained through one specific theory. In other words, a theory can be likened to a puzzle piece, and in order to see the more comprehensive picture, one must utilize all the pieces available and even create them in times of need. The given claim regarding the limitation of theory retains an assumption that all theories are limited to some extent. However, is having multiple theories advantageous in understanding the world?
